HencefortH - And Me
“One Day And A Month, the first demo of HencefortH, was successful even though a mediocre production. With a new line up HencefortH impresses again. This time recording a 7-song CD with a better recording. The Hardcore is aggressive and fast but there are still enough breaks to catch your breath. The lyrics about living in the western society are brought to you screaming in an incredible furious way. Due to the guitar riffs and staccato chords, which are played in a tone setting with a lot of feeling for drama, there is more melody in the repertoire, which makes this CD even better.”
HencefortH - And Me
“In Brazil is a band who shares the same name, but this is second demo CD of the hardcore band from Amsterdam HencefortH. There first demo release was in 2001, despite of the mediocre production it received a lot of positive reactions. For their second Demo HencefortH hooked up with the well known Sing Sing studios in Friesland to work on “And Me” A wise decision, because this CDemo sounds really great. HencefortH brings a good portion of melodic hardcore with some good old aggressive vocals. With this Henceforth grew out of the demo-circuit, and its time for the real stuff.”
HencefortH - And Me
“Melodic hardcore that's furious at the same time, fast old school mixed with mellow and emotional parts: Henceforth plays it all. This five piece from Amsterdam (at the time of recording they were still a four piece) has listened closely to As Friends Rust, but also to the melodic sounds of Ignite and Good Riddance. Combining this they create a style that has something interesting for every audience. I'm very curious how this band sounds with an extra guitarist, because that could just add a little extra to their sound.”
HencefortH - And me
“This is the second CD of HencefortH from Amsterdam. They've been around since 1999 and recorded one demo-CD before in 2001. It's melodic old-school hardcore which might be compared with As Friends Rust. Good vocals, nice guitar riffs. The recording is very good for a band that isn't that long around. Maybe not very original, but definitely good to hear.”
HencefortH - And Me
“Amsterdam may be the place were “everything” happens but regarding Hardcore/Punk Amsterdam hasn't a lot to offer. Back in the days there was a band called Driven and of course you had NRA, the best punk band in the Netherlands. Besides these bands Amsterdam doesn't have al lot more to offer with HencefortH as an exception. This formation makes me think of the American band As Friends Rust. Their melodic sound reminds me of the legendary “God Hour” Ep. The guitar parts, the change of tempo and melodic screaming vocals. The ingredients are all there.”
HencefortH - One day and a Month
“One Day and A Month is the first CDemo from Henceforth and it contains 14 songs! I'm impressed with what I heard, because there aren't many original hardcorebands around these days. You can compare them with Bane or Turning Point , but they still produce their own style. The quality of this demo is great and you can feel the energy they gave during the recordings. If you like the previously mentioned bands and 7 seconds and even Lifetime, you gotta like these guys!”
HencefortH - One day and a Month
“Not very original but with a lot of variation in songs this demo never gets boring. And with 14 songs that's amazing! You can compare HencefortH to a lot of different hardcore bands, but when you listen closley especially As Friend Rust comes to mind. You notice how their sound developed from pretty standard oldschool like Better Than A Thousand( in Make The Change) to a more melodic and balanced hardcore sound (in Curious). If they find a way to stick to this style and create more of their own sound....This band could be big!”
HencefortH - One day and a Month
“This CD starts off very good with a Gorilla Biscuits kind of song. All the songs are pretty good, but they just miss the final touch, wich could be due to the fact that the songs haven't been mixed out. After all it's a very varied CD. Sometimes a bit too varied, so it's rather difficult to get a good image of HencefortH's music. When HencefortH decides which style they'd like to play this band could become well known. I'm already looking forward to their next release, because this CD sounds very promising for the future.”
